Rihanna’s Preferred Quick Facial is Superior to Any Chemical Peel

Admiration for Rihanna knows no bounds. Ever since “Pon De Replay” first hit my ears in middle school back in 2005, I have been captivated by the iconic pop star’s talent, fashion sense, unbridled confidence, and overall badass persona. One of the top items on my Rihanna-inspired wishlist has always been her radiant, lit-from-within skin. Now, I can achieve a similar level of luminosity on my own skin with Fenty Beauty Pre-Show Glow 10% AHA Treatment ($40).

To use, begin by rinsing your face with warm water and dampening the applicator. Then, dispense a few drops of the treatment onto the pad. (A tip: a small amount goes a long way—this product lathers quickly). Gently scrub the applicator over your face for 30-60 seconds, rinse, and pat dry.

Due to the potent nature of the AHAs in the formula, Dr. Evans suggests following up with a good moisturizer and applying SPF 30 or higher before sun exposure. For individuals with sensitive skin, it is advisable to use the product sparingly and conduct a patch test on the inner arm for three days or more before applying to the face or neck (the same recommendation applies to those with fruit allergies, as the product contains fruit-derived actives).

While the formula is powerful, it may take a few applications before significant results are observed. After my initial use, I noticed my skin felt softer and smoother, but there were no substantial changes in brightness. It wasn’t until the third or fourth application that I truly saw a noticeable difference, but now with regular bi-weekly use, my skin instantly appears more radiant.
