Some Ways Of Maintaining Weight After Marriage
Maintaining Weight After Marriage
Hi,
Despite the ongoing second wave of Covid-19, the wedding season is in full swing. It’s commonly known that people tend to gain weight rapidly after getting married. Without delving into the reasons behind this, let’s explore some effective ways to maintain weight after marriage.
Let’s first discuss how to manage fitness levels during and after marriage!
You don’t need to inconvenience your new family by stocking up on diet foods, but rather incorporate a few simple habits to stay fit and healthy.
Here are some tips that I have personally followed, even during my honeymoon where I managed to stay on track:
### The one with Surya Namaskars
Surya namaskars are a series of 12 salutations that you can easily learn from online yoga videos. Being a big yoga enthusiast, all you need for Surya namaskars is a yoga mat, some space, and plenty of motivation. Even during my pre-wedding days, I attended yoga classes, and post-wedding during our vacation in the Maldives, I made use of the gym at the resort. I started with Surya Namaskars, followed by some treadmill sessions and skipping rope to get my heart rate up. Meanwhile, my husband used the treadmill and weights section as well.
### The one with kickstarting your day with a good breakfast
Starting your day with a nutritious breakfast is essential for staying active throughout the day. Opt for healthy options like milk/yogurt with muesli, prunes, dates, and fresh homemade fruit yogurts rich in calcium and vitamins. Try a vegetable omelet with toasted multigrain bread, followed by seasonal fruits for a healthy mid-morning snack. Occasionally treat yourself with freshly made sugar-free juices like orange or pineapple.
### The one with ignoring buffet meals at hotels
While staying at resorts with tempting buffet spreads can be challenging, opt for ordering from the à la carte menu to control portion sizes. Enjoy different cuisines in moderation and resist the urge to overindulge, especially in desserts. By ordering specific items, you can stay mindful of what you eat and maintain your fitness goals.
### The one with moving all day
Stay active by engaging in physical activities throughout the day. Whether it’s running errands, unpacking, or indulging in outdoor activities, keeping yourself moving is crucial. Explore nearby clubs or parks for a jog or a brisk walk to stay active and energized.
### The one with eating small meals
To avoid overeating, opt for smaller and frequent meals. Incorporate nutritious snacks like nuts, yogurt, and poha with green chilies to keep yourself satiated. Be mindful of your food choices during dinners and opt for balanced meals to maintain a healthy weight.
### The one with taking your vitamin supplements
After marriage, maintaining high energy levels is essential to cope with changes effectively. Make sure to take your prescribed vitamin supplements regularly to support your overall health and well-being. Consult a healthcare professional to determine the right supplements for your specific needs.
### The one with avoiding eating whatever comes your way
During wedding festivities with tempting treats all around, practice mindful eating by choosing healthier options and avoiding excessive consumption of sweets and fried snacks. Pack healthy snacks or meals to have on-the-go, ensuring you stay fueled and avoid overindulgence.
### The one with having home-cooked meals
Valuing the comfort of home-cooked meals, prioritize incorporating wholesome and nutritious foods into your daily diet. Cook simple and healthy meals using quality ingredients like brown rice, multigrain flour, fruits, nuts, and dairy products. Embrace the joy of cooking and relish the benefits of consuming nourishing homemade meals.
Finally, establish a routine post-marriage by joining a gym, health club, or yoga center near your residence. Encourage your partner to join you in these healthy pursuits to create shared goals and enhance your overall well-being together.
Embrace these tips to maintain a healthy weight post-marriage and foster a balanced lifestyle. Remember, prioritizing your health is essential to care for yourself and your loved ones effectively.
