This Body-Care Line Makes My Shower a Soul-Nourishing Ritual—And It’s Affordable

This Body-Care Line Makes My Shower a Soul-Nourishing Ritual—And It’s Affordable

When it comes to my weekday shower routine, it can vary from a quick three-minute rinse to a luxurious 15-minute cleanse, depending on how much time and energy I have. But recently, I’ve made a commitment to dedicate at least half an hour every Sunday evening to indulge in a more rejuvenating shower ritual. This ritual has been made possible by my favorite body care products from Keys Soulcare.

Keys Soulcare is a body-care line founded by Alicia Keys and developed in partnership with dermatologist Renée Snyder, MD. The line intentionally refers to its products as “offerings” to encourage combining skincare routines with self-care practices. Each product is printed with a different affirmation, such as “I let go of what doesn’t serve me” and “I love myself as I am”. By repeating these affirmations, my weekly self-care ritual not only leaves my skin softer and more supple, but also leaves me feeling calm and ready to take on the week ahead.

Keys Soulcare, Energizing Dry Body Brush — $22.00

My at-home spa experience begins with the Energizing Dry Body Brush ($22). While standing in the tub, I use this brush to physically exfoliate my skin. Dry brushing is believed to have numerous benefits, such as boosting circulation, improving lymphatic drainage, and reducing the appearance of cellulite. The firm vegan bristles of the brush gently massage my skin as I slough off dead skin cells. It’s important to apply just enough pressure to exfoliate without being abrasive. Once I got the hang of it, the repetitive motions of dry brushing became a relaxing part of my routine.

Keys Soulcare, Renewing Body + Hand Wash With Manuka Honey — $26.00

After dry brushing, I reach for the creamy Renewing Body + Hand Wash With Manuka Honey ($26) to cleanse my skin and rinse off the dead skin cells. This gel cleanser contains shea butter, cocoa butter, and manuka honey, which not only cleanse the skin but also provide moisture. Manuka honey is known for its anti-bacterial and wound healing properties, as well as its ability to draw water into the skin and possess anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The body wash has a subtle scent of sage and oat milk, making it suitable for all skin types.

Keys Soulcare, Mind-Clearing Body Polish With Glycolic and Lactic Acids — $25.00

If my skin is looking dull, I follow up with the Mind-Clearing Body Polish With Glycolic and Lactic Acids ($25) to revive it. This body polish contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid and lactic acid, which help smoothen and brighten the skin. AHAs are especially beneficial for those with keratosis pilaris, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. The bamboo charcoal in the polish physically exfoliates the skin, while sunflower seed and coconut oils replenish moisture and soothe the skin. I apply a generous amount of the polish on wet skin and gently rub it in circular motions, focusing on rough spots.

Keys Soulcare, Rich Nourishing Body Cream With Shea Butter — $36.00

After rinsing off the body polish, I moisturize my body with the Rich Nourishing Body Cream with Shea Butter ($36). This velvety and luxurious cream contains shea and cocoa butter, which calm and soothe the skin. Shea butter is known for its vitamins and fatty acids that support a healthy skin barrier and help soften and plump the skin. The cream also includes rose of Jericho, ceramides, and oats, which are ultra-moisturizing ingredients. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated without feeling heavy.

Although my shower ritual ends in the shower, the experience of indulging in a more time-intensive self-care ritual each week allows me to reconnect with myself. The offerings from Keys Soulcare have not only pampered my body but also nourished my mind and soul.
